Birmingham office appoints utilities expert

National firm Weightmans has welcomed Tracy Lake to the Birmingham office as a partner.

Tracy joins the firm after more than ten years with National Grid, and previously spent almost 17 years as a solicitor with Severn Trent Water. She brings a wealth of expertise in utilities following her years of experience as an in-house lawyer.

Partner and head of utilities Simon Colvin said: ‘Tracy is a fantastic addition to the team—her vast experience in the utilities sector is second to none, and her unique insight into the needs of general counsel will enable us to provide a more intuitive service to clients.

‘We are delighted to welcome her to the team at such a busy time and look forward to continuing to grow our team further in the coming months.’

Tracy added: ‘I am delighted to join Weightmans, a progressive firm with a culture which truly focuses on its people. I am looking forward to using my many years of experience as a senior in-house lawyer and leader within FTSE 100 companies to help to enhance and grow the firm’s utilities offering.’
