Womble Bond Dickinson—Jonny Williams

Banking expert joins as head of financial services

Transatlantic firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has welcomed Jonny Williams to the firm as partner and head of its national financial services team.

Jonny has joined WBD after more than six years with Lloyds Banking Group, where he formerly acted as head of legal; he has also held roles previously with Barclays and law firm Addleshaw Goddard. He is widely experienced handling a range of commercial and retail banking matters, including complex restructurings and regulatory issues. In his new role with WBD, he will be based across its offices in both London and Edinburgh.

WBD’s UK managing partner Jonathan Blair said: ‘We look forward to welcoming Jonny to the firm and the Partnership and are delighted to have somebody of his calibre leading our financial services team. Jonny's track record, his connections within the in-house legal community as well as his intimate knowledge of how banks and other financial institutions think and operate will strengthen our city and national offering and provide great added value to our clients.’

Jonny added: ‘WBD has strong credentials in the financial institutions sector with an impressive client portfolio. The firm is well positioned in this changing legal marketplace for success in the future and I am delighted to join WBD to lead and shape the further growth of the financial services team both in London, Edinburgh and further afield.’
