The all-day event, due to take place on 15 November at DLA Piper’s offices in Manchester, is expected to attract hundreds of delegates. Sessions will include advice on setting up a legal consultancy, CV-writing for legal roles, advice on how to increase your earnings, how to have more confidence, clarity and connection, and the route to becoming a partner, judge, QC or academic.
Dame
Grey-Thompson, who won 11 Gold medals during a 19-year career as a wheelchair
racer, retired in 2007 to focus on TV presenting and public service, and has
sat as a crossbench Peer in the House of Lords since 2010. Judge Stockdale has
presided over numerous high-profile cases at Manchester Crown Court.
Women in the
Law UK is a national organisation with more than 700 members, headquartered in
Manchester, that exists to support and encourage gender diversity in the legal
profession. It runs regular events in London, Leeds, Liverpool, Edinburgh,
Glasgow, Birmingham and Cardiff.
