Ampa Group—Kamal Chauhan

Group names Shakespeare Martineau partner head of Sheffield office

Ampa Group has appointed Shakespeare Martineau regulatory partner Kamal Chauhan as head of its Sheffield office, succeeding Carys Thompson after her five-year tenure. Chauhan will work alongside corporate partner Matt Ainsworth to lead the next phase of growth across South Yorkshire.

Based at Cubo in Carver Street, the Sheffield office brings together more than 40 people across Ampa Group businesses including Shakespeare Martineau, Marrons and Lime Solicitors. Chauhan will continue to lead Shakespeare Martineau’s regulatory practice while overseeing the Sheffield office.

Commenting on his appointment, Chauhan said: ‘Under Carys’ leadership, we’ve moved quickly from establishing a presence to building genuine momentum.’ He added: ‘We will now turn that momentum into long-term sustainable growth.’

Chauhan said there was ‘palpable enthusiasm behind the Sheffield office across Ampa Group’ and highlighted plans to ‘grow and build on the strong platform by investing in local talent and broadening our capabilities’. Thompson described it as ‘a privilege to lead the Sheffield office since its launch’ and said she looked forward to ‘supporting Kamal and Matt as the office continues to develop’.
