Andrew Bedford—Winckworth Sherwood

Real estate team appoints senior partner

Winckworth Sherwood has strengthened its real estate team with the appointment of partner Andrew Bedford. He joins the firm from Dentons where he was its global co-head of real estate.

Andrew specialises in commercial real estate providing strategic advice on office, retail, investment, acquisition and development transactions, and large-scale regeneration schemes. He brings to Winckworth Sherwood considerable expertise in regeneration, mixed-use schemes, food store development, residential and student development and joint venture arrangements. Most recently he has advised on regeneration schemes in Hounslow, Maidenhead, acted for Hammerson and Brookfield on the regeneration of Brent Cross and Cricklewood, and advised Bouygues on their Queens Park Development. He has for the past 10 years advised Sainsbury’s on its store acquisitions programme.

Andrew says: “Winckworth Sherwood has consistently demonstrated real commitment to the London real estate market.  The firm has an outstanding real estate offer and built a terrific team at a time when other firms have focused elsewhere.

“I am thrilled to be joining this exciting team, whose reputation continues to go from strength-to-strength.  Many large regeneration projects have significant residential components and I see a great opportunity in the compatibility of our respective practices.”

Roger Fitton, managing partner at Winckworth Sherwood, says: “Andrew is a well respected real estate lawyer and his considerable experience and client following will be a real asset to the firm.  We all look forward to the contribution he will make to the continuing growth and success of our team.”
