Andy Grimsey—Poppleston Allen

Associate promotion at licensing practice

Andy Grimsey, who joined Poppleston Allen in 2004 to head up the team dealing with the licensing reform process, has been appointed as an associate.

Andy, who acts for major breweries, late night operators, restaurateurs, developers and large independents, is a leading contributor within the trade press, applying his advice to assist readers facing licensing issues. He co-drafted the Live Music Act and has since assisted the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to bring about further deregulation of regulated entertainment.

Jonathan Smith, managing partner at Poppleston Allen, says: “Andy has made himself an invaluable member of the team and deserves this appointment and the recognition that comes with it. Andy is not only a first class lawyer, but as can be seen in the pages of the trade press each week, he has the ability to make sometimes complex legal situations digestible for business owners—that’s a rare and valuable talent, one we’re delighted to have as part of the team at Poppleston Allen.”
