Technology litigation partner joins firm
RPC has hired technology partner Anna Cook from Radiant Law, the technology and outsourcing boutique.
Anna set up the dispute resolution team at Radiant in 2012, having joined as a partner from Wedlake Bell. With almost 20 years' experience in litigation and international arbitration, she has built up a strong practice resolving complex contractual disputes, particularly in relation to large-scale technology contracts.
She led the successful team acting for De Beers in De Beers UK Limited v Atos Origin IT Services UK Limited [2010], a complex technical dispute in which De Beers proved that Atos had breached its contract by suspending work on a project.
Described by clients as "quick, responsive and commercial", Anna also has particular expertise handling disputes relating to logistics, retail systems, databases, content management, supply chain management and telecoms systems.
RPC managing partner Jonathan Watmough says: "We've been focusing on expanding our capability in technology litigation for some time, and building on what is already an excellent team. The combination of Anna's entrepreneurial spirit, outstanding record in handling complex disputes, and approachable and easy-going style make her an ideal fit for RPC.
"What's more, she also shares our commitment to innovation, and we are looking forward to working with her to develop the service we offer to our clients."
Jeremy Drew—head of IP and technology at RPC—says: "Our technology group has been handling an increasing number of disputes over the past couple of years. We expect that trend to continue and so needed to expand our team to enhance the offering to current and future clients. We feel very fortunate to have found someone with Anna's pedigree and experience."
