The Secret Barrister grills the new chair of the Bar, Richard Atkins QC, in an interview published in February’s Counsel magazine and free to view on Counsel magazine online.
In the interview, Atkins, who practises criminal and regulatory law from St Philips Chambers, Birmingham, explains what he wants to achieve in his year in office and answers questions on a range of topics including the advocates’ graduated fee scheme and the Bar’s relationship with the government.
The identity of the Secret Barrister, blogger and author of a best-selling book exposing the flaws in the criminal justice system, remains a secret (SB is believed to be male as well as a criminal barrister, comprehensive-educated, non-Oxbridge and of slim build).
