Ward Hadaway partner Sabina Kauser has been appointed Vice President of Birmingham Law Society (BLS), placing her in line to become President in 2027.
Her appointment was confirmed at the Society’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday 24 September, following a year as Deputy Vice President.
In her new role, Sabina will work closely with President Guy Barnett, represent the Society at events and become more involved in its programme, while preparing for her own presidential year.
During her time as Deputy Vice President, Sabina gained a broader understanding of the Society’s work and developed closer relationships with other regional law societies. This included taking part in meetings of the Joint V, which brings together Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester law societies to exchange ideas and consider issues affecting the profession.
Sabina said: “I am very proud to become Vice President. It is not a position I imagined I might hold when I began my career, and it means a great deal to have the opportunity to represent Birmingham’s legal community and Ward Hadaway.
“My year as Deputy Vice President gave me valuable insight into how the Society works and the chance to learn from other cities through the Joint V. Seeing what different law societies are doing for their members has given me ideas that we can bring back to Birmingham.
“My focus will be on ensuring members are properly represented and receive real value from the Society. This includes bringing lawyers together, strengthening connections with the wider business community and making sure members benefit from the relationships BLS has built.
“I am also looking forward to working with Guy during his presidential year. He was one of my first bosses after I qualified and has been a mentor for more than 20 years, which makes the opportunity to serve alongside him particularly meaningful. At the same time, I will begin planning the events and priorities for my own year as President.”
Based in Ward Hadaway’s Birmingham office, Sabina advises organisations and high-net-worth individuals on complex immigration matters. She has more than 20 years’ experience in immigration and human rights law and joined Ward Hadaway in 2025.
Sabina previously founded and ran Kausers Solicitors and has held senior roles with several Birmingham practices. Her work with BLS has included chairing its Immigration Committee and serving on its Council.

The appointment follows continued expansion at Ward Hadaway’s Birmingham office, where the firm has more than doubled the partner team to eight since it opened in June 2025.
