Kazakhstan-qualified lawyer joins litigation team

Broadfield has strengthened its litigation team with the appointment of Gani Abaydildinov, a senior lawyer with extensive cross-border transactional and dispute resolution experience.

Gani, a Kazakhstan-qualified lawyer, joined Broadfield on 9 December as Of Counsel from Eldwick Law where he was General Counsel.

He brings to Broadfield considerable experience and expertise in advising on oil and gas contracts, government contracts and high-value litigation and arbitration. He also has a strong reputation in advising high-net-worth individuals and family offices.

Commenting on joining the firm, Gani said: 'Broadfield has a first-class reputation in the energy and infrastructure sectors and is building a worldwide network. It is an exciting time to join the firm and build my practice further.'

Phil Smith, partner and head of litigation at Broadfield said: 'We are delighted by Gani’s decision to join the firm. It is an exciting prospect for Broadfield as Kazakhstan now has a fully formed international financial centre in Astana where many British judges reside with many cases conducted in accordance with UK law. Central Asia is and will be a large growth market for English law, and we look forward to the contributions Gani will bring.'
