BSB chief wanted

The Bar Standards Board (BSB) is looking for a director general to take over from Dr Vanessa Davies following her retirement at the end of 2019, after eight years at the helm. The successful candidate will steer the BSB through ‘changing consumer demands and expectations, significant reductions in public funding for legal aid and the justice system, technological advances and global competition’. Criteria for the job include being an experienced leader, able ‘to play a critical ambassadorial role in promoting the voice, impact and influence of the BSB’. The closing date for applications is 5pm on 2 July.
