IP firm boosts litigation practice
Carpmaels & Ransford LLP has announced the significant expansion of its patent litigation and life sciences practices with the appointment of four specialists.
David Wilson, one of the UK’s leading patent litigators, joins the firm as a partner from Herbert Smith Freehills, Life sciences and transactions specialist Jake Marshall also joins as a partner from Arnold & Porter; and senior associate Jennifer Antcliff from Actavis/Allergan joins senior associate Sarah Johnson who arrived at Carpmaels from Hogan Lovells last year.
Richard Jackson, managing partner, says: “We are delighted to welcome David, Jake, Jenny and Sarah to Carpmaels. Their addition to the firm, which now exceeds 200 people, complements an already impressive array of talent and completes the jigsaw of offerings which we have been putting in place over the last few years. If there is anything in the IP sphere which our clients require, I am confident that we can now service them at the highest level."
David comments: “I have known of Carpmaels’ pre-eminent reputation since I first started as an IP lawyer over 20 years ago, and during that time I have had the privilege of working both with, and against, various members of the firm on different matters. I have also known Ian and Camilla since litigating against them on a particularly heavy patent case some eight years ago. To be invited to be part of a team formed of practitioners that are both at the top of their game and a joy to work with is extremely exciting. I greatly look forward to being part of Carpmaels’ full service offering as we help our clients navigate the new IP landscape that is fast approaching.”
