Charles Stevens—Hewitsons

Partner promotion in agriculture & rural business team

Hewitsons solicitors has announced the promotion of Charles Stevens to partner.

Charles joined Hewitsons as a solicitor in the agriculture and rural business team back in September 2010, after working as a property solicitor at a long standing law firm in Essex. He was promoted to partner from the role of associate where he will continue to work alongside Denise Wilkinson and Charles Hewitson.

His work has involved him acting for individual farmers, land owning companies and charities, advising them on a variety of rural property matters including renewable energy projects, and acquisition and management—including development agreements and overage.

Charles says: “The variety of work and the nature of the clients Hewitsons represents has allowed me to gain considerable experience in the rural property sector. I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity in an expanding team and I am looking forward to 2016 and my role in the future success of the firm and the development of the unit.”

Denise Wilkinson, partner and head of Hewitsons’ Cambridge agriculture and rural business team, says: “I am delighted that Charles has been promoted to partner and very pleased that he sees his future with the team here in Cambridge. It’s well deserved as he works hard for the team and has an important contribution to make to the firm.”

Partner Charles Hewitson, concludes: “We would like to congratulate Charles on his well-earned promotion and wish him the very best in what we hope will be a long career at Hewitsons.”
