Law firm Coffin Mew has announced the launch of a business immigration service to bolster its employment practice.
The service is aimed at companies which recruit staff from overseas, as well as those with foreign subsidiaries and companies looking to establish themselves in the UK. The team will provide advice on a range of relevant matters, including the UK visa system and ‘right to work’ checks, managing a workforce following a merger or acquisition, and Brexit preparations.
Partner and head of employment Leon Deakin (pictured said: ‘We understand that recruiting the right people is vitally important and often challenging. However, the rules on business immigration and engaging foreign workers are complex and change rapidly, with severe penalties and reputational issues for those that get it wrong. If a company or organisation needs professional advice in this area of law, we are here to help.
Listening to our clients and markets, and responding to their needs is crucial to Coffin Mew. We are therefore delighted to now be able to offer this additional service in-house. As part of our employment offering, it will complement Coffin Mew’s overarching proposition for businesses of all sizes.’
