Constantine Law, the ranked (Chambers and Legal 500) consultant-led “agile” employment and regulatory specialist law firm has recruited another new senior partner to its growing employment team: Anita Vadgama, former Head of Litigation at didlaw, has joined the firm. Anita said, “I’m delighted to be joining Constantine Law at such an exciting point in its growth. The firm has built a strong reputation for excellence in employment and regulatory law, and I was particularly drawn to its consultant-led model, collaborative culture and clear ambition. I’m looking forward to working with the team and supporting clients on complex, high stakes matters.”
Anita’s appointment follows swiftly on from that of James Baker, formerly Head of Employment at Lee & Thompson and Julie Goodway a partner at Thomas Mansfield Solicitors, who joined Constantine Law in April 2026. The new appointment takes Constantine Law to a headcount of 21 partners and a total of 27 fee earning staff - including 13 specialist employment partners.
Anita is a ranked employment litigator, recognised by Chambers for her work for senior executives. Chambers and Partners 2024 describes her as “an expert in discrimination” with “notable experience advising clients who are dealing with mental health issues”.
She advises senior executives, including C-suite employees, on complex workplace disputes, FCA regulatory issues and high-value exits. Her practice focuses on discrimination, particularly disability and neurodiversity discrimination, as well as sex and race discrimination, harassment and whistleblowing claims.
She represented the appellant in the Court of Appeal in Kong v Gulf International Bank (UK) Limited and has secured significant tribunal victories, including a £2.5 million disability discrimination award in 2021, one of the highest awards of its kind.
She is also a leading adviser on employment issues linked to Permanent Health Insurance benefits, including insurer and FOS appeals, commuted lump-sum settlements and termination arrangements for incapacitated employees.
Anita trained and worked at Thompsons for 10 years before spending seven years in the US as a dual-qualified English and Massachusetts attorney at Littler Mendelson. She joined didlaw in 2018, where she became partner and Head of Litigation.
She is an Executive Committee member of the Industrial Law Society and is involved with Protect, the whistleblowing charity.
Commenting on the new appointment, John Hayes Managing Partner at Constantine Law said, “We welcome Anita to Constantine Law. Her specialist knowledge in the world of discrimination and disability brings added depth to our growing employment team. She also complements our expertise in advising senior executives and bringing whistleblowing claims.
Constantine Law continues to expand. We took on five new partners in 2025 alone, including launching our new Business Immigration practice. We are also in the process of recruiting other senior partner hires.”
“Following James Baker and Julie Goodway joining us in April, Anita’s appointment illustrates both our growing reputation and the attraction for entrepreneurial lawyers to work for a progressive, collegiate firm like ours without the fixed costs and targets of many firms. Constantine Law rewards success, whilst providing the broader support of being part of a wider team.”
