Court fee refunds available

Lawyers can now apply for refunds of court fees if they think they paid too much for services between April 2014 and March 2018, the Ministry of Justice has announced

The decision to refund fees follows a government review in 2018, which discovered fees had been unintentionally set above cost. The refund scheme also covers instances where the wrong fee was charged or incorrectly applied. The Ministry has pledged to annually review the level at which court fees are set. Application forms are available from HM Courts and Tribunals Service.
