Dan Tan—Stone Chambers

International arbitration star joins Chambers 

Stone Chambers has welcomed leading international arbitration lawyer and arbitrator Dan Tan as an associate member of chambers. Dan is based in Singapore and the US and is called to the Bar in Singapore, New York, California, District of Columbia, and as a solicitor in England & Wales.

Dan has over a decade of experience in international arbitration and litigation experience at some of the largest international law firms. He previously practiced with Latham & Watkins and O’Melveny & Myers in New York, trained and practiced with Lovells in London, where he represented US and international clients in high-value cases spanning a range of national laws and industries, including aerospace, construction, telecommunications, entertainment, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, oil and gas, and energy. He is also the principal of Dan Tan Law, a boutique law firm based in New York and San Francisco that has been repeatedly ranked amongst the top 100 of all arbitration practices in the world (Global Arbitration Review 100, 2012 to 2016).

Dan’s practice focuses on international arbitration. He has acted as counsel in arbitrations under various institutional rules (including ICC, LCIA, AAA, Swiss Rules, BANI, SIAC) seated in major arbitration venues (New York, California, London, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, Indonesia, Brazil, and Singapore). These cases involve disputes stemming from joint venture and partnership agreements, distributor and supply agreements, IP agreements, license agreements, share purchase and option agreements, construction and oil & gas contracts. He also sits as an arbitrator (chair and sole) in international arbitrations.
