New partner joins boutique firm

GQ Employment Law, the boutique employment law firm, has announced the appointment of a new partner, Daniel Pollard, from MacFarlanes. The firm now has a team of eleven lawyers, ranking its employment law capability alongside that of much larger Magic Circle and "silver circle" firms.

Daniel has fully rounded experience of employment law covering both contentious and non-contentious matters for financial institutions, corporates and LLPs. He has extensive experience in transactional M&A work, particularly in the financial services and LLP sectors, where GQ already has considerable strengths. In addition Daniel has expertise in data protection issues, particularly those relating to HR, plus he has an impressive track record of working with US clients which he gained during previous roles at the London offices of US law firms WilmerHale and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher.

“Daniel will be a great addition to our partnership team,” comments Jon Gilligan, one of the founding partners of GQ.   “His experience with City and overseas clients, particularly in the transactional space, will support our rapid growth in these areas.”

Daniel adds: "I am extremely excited about the opportunities for growth at GQ and have some clear ideas about how I can support the team in developing transactional work, along with relationships with US law firms in London who don’t have a UK employment law capability.”
