Firm strengthens corporate & M&A practice in Milan
Three months after opening its office in Milan in October 2015, Dentons is expanding with the hire of a partner and four additional lawyers. Partner Stefano Speroni has joined the firm as head of the corporate and M&A practice in Milan.
Stefano comes from Grimaldi Studio Legale, where he was the lead partner of the corporate and M&A practice and a member of the executive committee. He joins along with a team of three professionals: counsel Barbara Urselli, associate Leonora Ruta and associate Federica Andreoni. In addition to Speroni’s team, associate Federico Giacobbe has also joined the corporate M&A practice from Baker & McKenzie.
With broad experience in M&A, private equity and capital markets, Stefano has led some of the most important M&A transactions in the Italian market over the last few years. In 2015, he assisted Finmeccanica in the sale of the transportation business of Ansaldo Breda and Ansaldo STS to Hitachi Rail Europe. He advised WIND Telecomunicazioni SpA on the sale of a 90 percent stake in Galata SpA—which owns the civilian infrastructure of mobile broadcast towers in Italy—to Abertis.
Federico Sutti, managing partner in Italy, comments: “The hire of Stefano Speroni and his team will firmly establish Dentons’ corporate and M&A practice in the Italian market. With our full service approach, Dentons aims to be a key player in all major areas of business law. The corporate and M&A group is expected to become one of the Milan office’s most important practices, along with real estate, energy and employment.”
Tomasz Dabrowski, CEO of Dentons Europe adds: “As one of the leading lawyers in his field, Stefano Speroni will help Dentons become a strong competitor in the Italian M&A market right away. The hire of Stefano and his team is an important milestone in our Firm’s growth strategy."
