A B&B’s policy of only allowing heterosexual married couples to have double rooms amounted to direct discrimination for the purposes of reg 3(1) of the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007 (SI 2007/1263) (since replaced by the Equality Act 2010 without material alteration).
