DWF appoints new major injury and casualty partner in Dublin

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed experienced insurance lawyer David Kennedy as a partner in its Dublin office, further strengthening its casualty offering in Ireland.

David joins DWF from DAC Beachcroft. Dual-qualified in Ireland and England & Wales, David brings more than 18 years’ experience advising on the defence of employers’, public, product and motor liability claims. David also brings experience in dealing with property liability claims, coverage disputes and advising on Health and Safety Authority investigations.  He has acted extensively for both London market and domestic insurers, as well as a number of high-profile corporate clients, and joins DWF with a strong reputation in the Irish insurance market.

David's appointment marks a further step in the continued growth and development of DWF in Ireland and adds a fourth partner to its newly established partner team.

The appointment follows continued investment in DWF’s Major Injury and Casualty practice, including the recent appointment of partner Anthony Baker and four directors from DAC Beachcroft. Together, these appointments reflect the firm’s growing presence in the insurance market and strengthen its ability to support clients across the UK and Ireland.

James Colville, Managing Partner of DWF in Ireland, said: “It is fantastic to be working with David again, and I am absolutely delighted to welcome him to DWF. His experience and reputation in the market will further strengthen our casualty offering and give us significant momentum as we continue to grow our work with insurers.

“These are really exciting times for our Dublin office, with continued client wins and further team growth on the horizon. David’s appointment is another important step as we build a new partner team and continue to establish something special in the Irish market.”

Commenting on his appointment, David Kennedy said: “I am really excited to be joining DWF. The firm already has a strong Casualty team and an excellent client base, and I am looking forward to working with James, the partners and the wider team to build on that success and further grow DWF’s offering to the insurance sector in Ireland and beyond.”
