Partner to head up Knights' family team in Derby
Professional services firm Knights has appointed a five-strong team of family law specialists to join its new Derby office.
Fiona Lazenby will head up the team which provides expert advice on many complex issues of relationship breakdown, with particular expertise in the resolution of financial matters on separation where there is business or farming interests, family trusts, or inherited assets.
Fiona is joining Knights at a pivotal time for the firm as it expands its services to the East Midlands from its new Derby base. She will be joined by senior associate Jane Livingstone, associate Julie Lee and solicitor, Amrit Hunjin. Legal secretary Laraine Dixon has also been appointed. The team has a great reputation and a proven track record, having worked in Derby and Nottingham together for the last seven years.
“I’m delighted to be joining Knights,” Fiona says. “Setting up a new office is always an exciting prospect, and even more so with such a dynamic firm.
“The Knights’ business model will enable my team to provide an improved service delivery to our current clients, as well as providing a greater offering to potential new clients too. Our specialisms make a great fit with the Knights’ expertise.
“Knights has successfully expanded its capability across its other offices and we have no doubt that we can re-create that model in Derby.”
David Beech, CEO for Knights, says the recruitment of this team will play an important part in the success of the Derby office.
“Fiona and her team are extremely experienced and very highly regarded, not just in Derby but in the wider legal sector and we are very pleased to have them on board,” he says.
“Providing a high-quality service to our private clients is very important to Knights especially in this rapidly changing legal market where larger firms aren’t investing and the high street is struggling to deliver value.
“Fiona and the team have a real passion for family law and are a fantastic addition to our growing Derby team.
“I’m confident their vast experience will make a big impact on the support we can offer our clients. Fiona has worked in the region for more than 25 years and I have no doubt that her input will have a positive effect on the firm as we aim to become a top 100 law firm by 2017.”
