First 100 Years

Women in the legal profession, the First 100 Years project wants to hear your stories. The five-year video history project launched last year and celebrates the journey of women in the legal profession since the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, which allowed women to qualify. An online library and extensive programme of activities are planned for the centenary of the Act in 2019. The project is the brainchild of Dana Denis-Smith, founder and CEO of Obelisk Support, and is being supported by the Law Society, the Bar Council, CILEx and Aspiring Solicitors.
