Freeths—Sophie Fulwell

National firm strengthens Liverpool employment practice with director hire

Freeths has appointed Sophie Fulwell as director in its Liverpool office, further expanding the firm’s national employment team. With more than 16 years’ post-qualification experience, Fulwell will focus on developing the firm’s employment offering in Liverpool while working closely with colleagues across the wider national practice.

Fulwell advises employers across sectors including financial services, technology, education, retail and leisure. Her experience covers the employment aspects of corporate transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, investments and outsourcing projects, alongside large-scale HR matters including restructures, redundancy programmes and business transformations.

She also advises employers and senior executives on day-to-day employment matters, including contracts, senior service agreements, post-termination restrictions and employment tribunal claims involving whistleblowing, discrimination and constructive unfair dismissal.

Rena Magdani, partner and national head of employment, pensions and immigration at Freeths, said Fulwell was ‘a highly respected employment lawyer with a strong track record of advising businesses on complex and strategically sensitive issues’. Fulwell said: ‘Freeths has a strong national reputation for the quality and depth of its employment practice’ and added that she was looking forward to ‘building the employment offering locally’.
