Gavin Williamson & Cathie Cameron—BDO Forensic Services

New partner & director for London team

BDO LLP, the international accountancy and business advisory firm, has today announced two new appointments to the London based forensic accounting team; Gavin Williamson has joined the firm as a partner and Cathie Cameron as a director.

Gavin is an experienced forensic accountant and joins from Deloitte where he specialised in complex, multi-jurisdictional fraud and corruption investigations on behalf of corporate clients. His experience includes the preparation of independent investigation reports for the UK’s Serious Fraud Office, the US Department of Justice, English County and High Courts. In addition, he has worked on a variety of engagements across the globe, in Switzerland, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Cathie brings 25 years of experience in public accounting, industry and consulting to BDO. Before joining the team, Cathie had her own consulting business in the US providing expert witness services in damages calculation, forensic accounting and business valuation. Previously, she had provided those services at Berkeley Research Group and LECG. Her previous experience includes extensive expert witness work, giving evidence under oath on almost 30 different occasions, and is a published writer, co-authoring Business Torts: A Practical Guide to Litigation.

Gervase MacGregor, head of international advisory, risk and quality at BDO LLP comments: “Gavin and Cathie’s combined global experiences will greatly strengthen our offering and add a depth of knowledge to our global proposition. Gavin’s experience with forensic methodologies and asset tracing and Cathie’s knowledge of dispute resolution and expert witness cases will further bolster our in-house skill set. I look forward to working with them.”
