District Judge Stephen Gold continues his preview of the new “single” County Court, which opens for business on 22 April, in “Civil Way” this week. DG Gold also provides an update on the ripple effect of Mitchell through the courts, including one shipping case where relief was granted for a deadline missed by 46 minutes, and another shipping case where it was not because the judge said the default was the foreseeable consequence of the defendant’s decision not to pay legal fees which it was able to pay.
