New professional indemnity partner appointed to Belfast office
BLM, the risk and insurance law business, has appointed a new partner to its Belfast office. Graeme Moore joins the firm from Kennedys in Northern Ireland on 1 April 2015.
Graeme, who was a partner at Kennedys since 2013, joins the firm to bolster its expanding professional indemnity practice. He will bring a high level of expertise to the firm. During his time at Kennedys, Graeme has built up an increasingly varied caseload, acting on behalf of professionals such as architects, insurance brokers, surveyors and manufacturers advising on policy issues such as non-disclosure, late notification, duty to co-operate and efficacy clauses. He also has considerable experience in clinical negligence claims and advising London Market insurers.
BLM partner and head of the firm’s Irish offices, Peter Campbell, says: “We are thrilled to have Graeme on board with us. BLM is going through a period of great and exciting change and he is joining us at exactly the right time. His expertise of the insurance sector combined with market knowledge at a local level is something on which BLM prides itself across all jurisdictions. That, teamed with his knowledge of the London Market will ensure that he is a much valued member of the team. Many clients and prospective clients have already expressed great interest in his joining us.”
Mike Brown, senior partner at BLM, says: “As the firm evolves and expands it is essential that we complement this with an ever-growing pool of experts. Graeme, along with all our lawyers continue to fully support our customers and their individual needs. We are so much more than a firm that simply provides legal advice. We help customers save time and money reducing risk, resolving disputes and managing claims by ensuring we have the local knowledge and national market know-how at our fingertips. This is a very exciting time for us and I’m delighted that Graeme will be a part of it.”
BLM combined with Northern Ireland based law firm Campbell Fitzpatrick Solicitors on 1 December 2014, inheriting new offices in Belfast and Derry.
