High Court appointments announced

From 1 October, William Trower QC and Karen Steyn QC will take up appointments as High Court judges, with a further eight appointments—to fill vacancies left by retirements and elevations to the Court of Appeal—set to be announced in the coming months. 

William Trower QC, who will take up his position in the Chancery Division following the retirement of Mr Justice Peter Smith, was called to the Bar in 1983, and appointed deputy High Court judge in 2007. Karen Steyn QC, called in 1995 and appointed QC in 2014, will take on her new role in the Queen’s Bench Division following the retirement of Mr Justice King.
