IP litigation specialists join firm
IP firm Carpmaels & Ransford LLP has announced the appointment of two leading IP litigation specialists; partners Ian Kirby and Jonathan Day from Arnold & Porter. The hires come as part of an ongoing strategic push by Carpmaels to provide clients with a full service offering.
Ian Kirby, who has now taken up his position at Carpmaels, founded, grew, and has led the well-regarded IP team at Arnold & Porter’s London office for nearly 15 years. For his entire career, Ian has focused on intellectual property disputes and multijurisdictional patent litigation.
Jonathan Day, who will join Ian at the firm from 22 September, is dual-qualified as a solicitor and trade mark attorney, with a background in brand protection, enforcement and management, and IP and commercial advisory work.
The duo also has significant ADR and mediation experience, with Ian being a member of the WIPO List of Mediators.
Richard Jackson, managing partner of Carpmaels, comments: “We are delighted to welcome Ian and Jonathan to Carpmaels as we broaden the gold standard offering we already provide to clients. This is just the start of a strategic move from the firm to expand our litigation offering and we will be adding to this team with more life sciences expertise in the coming weeks."
