Firm acquires immigration team from Carter Thomas

Irwin Mitchell has expanded its private client immigration team with the acquisition of the immigration team and ongoing work of boutique firm Carter Thomas, enhancing its expertise across education, sports, technology, and corporate compliance sectors. Carter Thomas founder Nichola Carter, a highly respected figure in UK immigration law, joins Irwin Mitchell as a partner. ‘Joining Irwin Mitchell gives us access to a full suite of legal services, enabling us to support our clients even more comprehensively,’ she says.

The Carter Thomas immigration team will be incorporated under the leadership of Mandeep Khroud (pictured), partner and national head of immigration, who has overseen the rapid expansion of the team in recent years. ‘Our new colleagues bring excellent expertise and deep sector specialisms that perfectly complement our existing strengths,’ says Khroud.

With immigration specialists now operating in Sheffield, London, Newcastle, and Manchester, the acquisition reinforces Irwin Mitchell’s national footprint.
