New hire for market leading dispute resolution funder
Vannin Capital has announced that John Kingston, a senior industry figure, has joined the business as head of investments. John brings with him a wealth of experience, with a litigation career spanning nearly 40 years, first as a lawyer and latterly as director of litigation funding with Harbour Litigation Funding.
Until 2008, John was a partner at Travers Smith, having founded its litigation department in 1978. His areas of specialisation covered commercial litigation and arbitration, both in the UK and overseas. He subsequently spent four years at Harbour Litigation Funding, gaining considerable insight into the funding process. In addition to continuing as a non-practising solicitor, John was called to the Bar in 2012. He also sits as a Recorder of the Crown Court in both criminal and civil matters on the South Eastern Circuit following his appointment in 2003.
Matthew Cox, director at Vannin Capital, comments: “John brings the best of both worlds to Vannin Capital, combining the in-depth experience and knowledge of a leading litigation lawyer with an insight and understanding of a litigation funder.”
