Firm appoints head of medical negligence and personal Injury practice

Kingsley Napley LLP has announced that James Bell has joined the firm as a partner to lead the firm’s medical negligence & personal injury practice.

James joins from Hodge Jones & Allen, where he been a partner since 2017. Prior to that he led the London clinical negligence team at Slater & Gordon. During his 25-year career James has worked on cases involving all types of medical negligence and personal injury, including claims relating to delayed diagnosis, birth injuries, anaesthetic injuries, surgical errors, road traffic and rail accidents and workplace injuries.

At Kingsley Napley, James will be taking over as practice leader from Terrence Donovan, who will be returning to his client work. The team includes specialists in spinal injury, brain injury, birth injury and other life-changing injuries, as well as on claims arising from fatalities. It also supports families through inquests and excels in particularly complex cases, often involving significant financial compensation.

Linda Woolley, managing partner of Kingsley Napley said: 'I am delighted to welcome James to the firm. He has an impressive track record, both in terms of client work and team leadership, and I am confident our Medical Negligence & Personal Injury practice, which has been so outstandingly led by Terry for many years, will continue to go from strength to strength.'

James Bell comments, 'I know how highly respected Kingsley Napley’s practice and lawyers are in the medical negligence and personal injury world and I am very pleased to be joining a team with such a great pedigree and potential. It is also exciting to be joining the firm at a time when it is enjoying significant growth and I look forward to playing my part in its continued success.'
