Firm appoints new legal director

Bond Dickinson has appointed legal director Kiran Chand into its Leeds office to join the corporate and commercial team where her work will involve advising on IT and business process outsourcings for major change and business transformation programmes. She will also advise on other tech-related agreements such as hosting, design and build and support and maintenance contracts, IaaS and SaaS contracts and software licences.

Kiran joins Bond Dickinson from Pinsent Masons where she spent many years advising on the legal and commercial aspects of IT and business process outsourcings and tech contracts.

Kiran’s experience includes advising a FTSE 100 energy company on its global HR and payroll outsourcing, advising a FTSE 100 financial institution on a framework agreement for procuring IT services from a single supplier (including applications development and support and maintenance services), advising a central government department on the procurement of financial advisory services, advising a multinational infrastructure group on the procurement of its treasury management system using a cloud hosting solution, advising an international supplier of insulation, roofing and construction products on its procurement of an ERP system and advising an international packaging business on its terms and conditions for online selling to consumers.

Simon Watts, partner and head of the firm’s corporate & commercial services group, says: "We are delighted to have recruited a candidate of Kiran's calibre into the team. This appointment follows several other lateral hires into the Leeds office including corporate partner Simon Pilling real estate partner Julia Field and managing associate Jonathan Watmough. We have also recently appointed corporate partner Robert Phillips who will be based in our Newcastle office. These latest appointments further strengthen our offering in Leeds as well as the growing strength of our national corporate team".
