Law firm Lewis Silkin has announced the expansion of its Hong Kong practice with two local hires, Catherine Leung and Kenneth Leung, as well as its recognition as the official Hong Kong member of international employment law network Ius Laboris.
Following its launch in 2015, Lewis Silkin Hong Kong (which will be known in Chinese as 世勤律師事務所) was officially converted to a Hong Kong partnership in January 2019. The practice will be led by employment partner and head of Lewis Silkin Hong Kong Kathryn Weaver, alongside fellow partner Andrew Wanambwa. Both Kathryn and Andrew are dual-qualified to practise in both Hong Kong and England and Wales. The Asia Pacific immigration practice will continue to be run by Antonia Grant.
Catherine Leung has joined the team as a legal director from her former position of solicitor with Baker McKenzie Hong Kong. She is dual-qualified in both Hong Kong and England and Wales, and brings more than 12 years of experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law.
Kenneth Leung joins the firm as a senior consultant after 22 years with Clifford Chance, where he previously established and headed the Hong Kong tax, pensions and employment practice. He is also qualified to practise in both Hong Kong and England and Wales.
