The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has published the Director of Public Prosecutions’ (DPP) speech to the Bar Council.
Lexis®Library update: In his speech, the DPP said that the CPS’ goal for the following 12 months will be on the mitigation of the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as well as to support the CPS’ operational frontline. The CPS will continue its work with the Bar ‘to tackle the backlog of cases in the system whilst maintaining quality of decision making’.
