LNB news: Crime statistics from October to December 2021 show increase in rape convictions

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has published crime statistics covering the three- month period from 1 October to 31 December 2021

Lexis®Library update: Among the results, the data indicates there has been a 23.7% increase in pre-charge rape referrals from the police, a 4.6% increase in the volume of suspects being charged for rape, a 10.2% increase in the volume of rape prosecutions, a 14.7% increase in the volume of convictions for rape and a 2.9 percentage point increase in the rape conviction rate.
