LNB NEWS: Environmental model aims to help solicitors meet duty to advise on climate risks

The Law Society of England and Wales has published an article written by the Commercial product director at Dye & Durham, Tim Champney, on how solicitors can transition into the era of climate risk advice in conveyancing transactions.

Lexis® update: The article sets out how Dye & Durham are modelling future environmental hazards to present solicitors with the relevant data to advise clients on how climate change could impact property values, financing and insurance coverage. Champney notes that flooding, ground stability and coastal erosion are likely to be the most important risks to consider as climate change progresses.
