LNB NEWS: HMCTS publishes courts & tribunals opening times for the Christmas & New Year period 2022

HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has published details of the courts and tribunals opening times for the Christmas and New Year period 2022.
Lexis®Library update: Courts and tribunals will temporarily close on the following dates throughout the Christmas holidays:
  • Monday 26 December 2022
  • Tuesday 27 December 2022
  • Wednesday 28 December 2022
  • Monday 2 January 2023  

For certain remand hearings, some magistrates’ courts will be open on 26 and 27 December 2022 and 2 January 2023.

Closures on Wednesday 28 December 2022 only concern County and Family Courts, Crown Courts, High Court, Court of Appeal (Royal Courts of Justice and Rolls Building) and tribunals.

Magistrates’ courts will be open on Wednesday 28 December 2022.

In Scotland, tribunal offices will also be closed on Tuesday 3 January 2023.

Hearings conducted over the Christmas period may take place in person, or via telephone or video, which will be confirmed in the hearing notice.
