The Joint Committee on Human Rights (JCHR) has launched an inquiry to conduct legislative scrutiny of the Illegal Migration Bill

Lexis®Library update: The Committee is inviting written submissions from interested groups and individuals, and is interested in receiving views on general issues with the Bill, the duty to make arrangements for removal, detention and bail, children, modern slavery, entry, settlement and citizenship, legal proceedings, capping the annual number of entrants using safe and legal routes and any other issues. The deadline to submit evidence is 6 April 2023. The JCHR has also written to the Home Secretary, Rt Hon Suella Braverman KC MP, requesting that she appears before the Committee to answer questions on the Bill.
