LNB NEWS: Law Society releases MEES guidance for commercial properties

The Law Society has released guidance on green leases and Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) for commercial properties in England and Wales. 

Lexis®Library update: The guidance covers what green lease drafting is and how it affects solicitors and their clients, the importance of green leases and their impact on the market and client demand, MEES and duty of care to advise on client risk, landlord liability under MEES, solicitors’ duty to advise under MEES, the climate legal risks impacting UK property and model green lease clauses that can be used.
