The United Kingdom Supreme Court (UKSC) has published 2023's Neill Lecture, given by Lord Burrows in February 2023, on seven lessons or insights that can be learnt about the work of a UKSC judge, from inside the UKSC.

Lexis®Library update: These lessons include the huge importance of statutory interpretation, the large amount of time spent sitting in the Privy Council, the relevance and difficulty of the distinction between law and fact, the reliance on practical legal scholarship, the collegiate process by which most judgments are produced, the role of counsel in determining the scope of the decision and the reasoning process by which the UKSC justices decide cases.
