New partner for family law department

Maeve O'Higgins has joined Moon Beever Solicitors, as a partner to head up the firm's family law department.

She brings to Moon Beever extensive experience in all aspects of family law, having acted for high-net worth Individuals or their partners in cases involving divorce, civil partnerships and related financial claims. She has also acted in disputes between cohabiting partners and same-sex couples over finance and property, and in private law disputes involving children and cross-jurisdictional issues.

As Moon Beever's family law partner, Maeve also brings to the firm particular expertise in dealing with prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, having advised ultra high-net worth individuals with assets of £500m or over in such agreements.

Before joining Moon Beever, Maeve O'Higgins was the family law partner at May, May & Merrimans of Gray's Inn.

Frances Coulson, Moon Beever's managing partner, says: "Family law is at an interesting juncture as new legislation over same sex marriage and civil partnerships raise legal questions over new situations such as those involving surrogate parenting involving same sex couples. Maeve's experience is relevant to these issues as well as more familiar family law cases."
