Restructuring expert joins to co-head department

City firm McCarthy Denning has announced the appointment of Dr Werner Meier as a partner, working across its restructuring, banking and finance, and corporate practices. In this role, Werner will take on the position of co-head of finance and restructuring.

Werner has previously headed restructuring departments at Simmons & Simmons, King & Spalding, and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. He has 28 years of experience, and specialises in German and European debt and corporate restructuring matters. He advises financial investors, international banks, multinational companies and sovereign states on structured finance transactions and M&A deals. His appointment brings McCarthy Denning’s partnership to a total of 45.
