Mourant Consulting—Amy Gurm

Mourant Consulting launches in the Cayman Islands with director appointment

Amy Gurm has been appointed by Mourant, a law firm-led professional services business, to head up the newly launched Mourant Consulting offering in the Cayman Islands. Joining Amy in the growing Cayman-based Mourant Consulting team is Yara Henry, who has been appointed to the role of Associate Director.

Mourant Consulting is a global specialist consulting business and the expansion to the Cayman Islands reflects further growth in the firm's overall regulatory services.

Amy, who was previously director of Mourant Consulting in Jersey, has relocated to the Cayman Islands to lead the consultancy business as director. She has more than 15 years’ experience as a risk and regulatory professional across financial services, public and other regulated business. Amy has expertise in AML, Corporate Governance, internal audit and regulatory advisory services across funds, bank and trust companies and fund administrators.

Yara has over 18 years' experience in the financial services industry in the Cayman Islands, with technical expertise in the banking and trust sectors. Prior to joining Mourant Consulting, Yara was a Chief Analyst in the Banking Supervision Division at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA). She also has experience working on the Cayman Islands' National Risk Assessment, where she was a member and Co-Chair of two working groups.

Mourant Consulting Managing Director Mike Jones said: 'We’re proud to launch this new offering in the Cayman Islands. Mourant Consulting in Jersey has been a huge success and Amy has played an integral part in that, so we’re sure she’ll grow the business to be just as successful in the Cayman Islands. Her expertise in risk and compliance makes her the ideal fit to lead this new service. The launch is a direct result of growing demand for our regulatory services and will further strengthen our client offering.

'It is a pleasure to also welcome Yara to our growing team. Yara brings with her a wealth of experience in financial services regulation in the Cayman Islands and will be a valuable asset to the team.'

Working in collaboration with the firm's regulatory legal practice, Mourant Consulting in the Cayman Islands will offer powerful regulatory knowledge combined with secure expertise in helping financial services clients build long-term strategies to enhance their governance, risk and compliance culture and navigate the changing regulatory landscape.

Mourant Consulting also expanded to Guernsey in September 2022.
