NLJ this week: The JOYS of judging

93292
The latest edition of The Judge Over Your Shoulder (or JOYS, as its delightful acronym goes) is a trove of useful, concise and practical guidance on administrative law decision-making, Nicholas Dobson writes in this week’s NLJ

The updated guide was issued by the Treasury Solicitor in July. Dobson, who writes about local government, public law and governance, provides a thorough review, delving into some of the fascinating principle and reasoning behind the exercise of public power.

After all, as Dobson writes, ‘Many public authority decisions are likely to cause distress, disappointment or annoyance to [at least] some people or groups’.
