Employment lawyers are being asked for their views on pension rights. The President of the Employment Tribunals has launched a consultation paper on the subject of Compensation for Loss of Pension Rights in Employment Tribunals as the existing guidance, originally published in 1991 and updated most recently in 2003, is felt to be out of date. It recommends abandoning the current guidance, introducing new categories of “simple” cases and “complex” cases, the latter equivalent to the “substantial loss” cases. Responses are due by 20 May 2016.
