IP firm promotes litigator to partnership
Powell Gilbert has promoted Callum Beamish-Lacey to its partnership, effective 1 April 2026, as the firm continues to expand its intellectual property disputes capability. The move follows ongoing growth in its patent litigation practice, particularly in the life sciences and technology sectors.
Beamish-Lacey is an experienced IP litigator specialising in complex patent disputes across sectors including pharmaceuticals, medical devices and telecommunications. He is particularly known for his expertise in damages inquiries linked to interim injunctions and regularly advises on multi-jurisdictional litigation, including matters before the Unified Patent Court.
His broader practice includes advising on IP disputes across industries such as publishing, automotive and fashion. A former barrister at 8 New Square, he holds full rights of audience in England and Wales and has appeared before courts including the High Court and Court of Appeal.
Commenting on the promotion, partner Dr Penny Gilbert said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Callum to the partnership… his reputation for handling sophisticated damages inquiries and multi-jurisdictional litigation is of particular value,’ adding: ‘We look forward to his ongoing contribution to the success of our firm and our clients.’
