Public Bodies (Abolition of Courts Boards) Order 2012 (SI 2012/1206)

Courts Boards were established by the Courts Act 2003, s 4.

Purpose

Court Boards are abolished with no transfer of functions.

Background

They have a statutory role in relation to the Crown Court, county courts and magistrates’ courts. They do not manage or administer the courts themselves but make recommendations to Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service.
