New recruits for film & television practice
Olswang has grown its film and television practice with the hiring of two London-based lawyers, Rebekah Hayes and Isha Mehta.
Rebekah has joined Olswang as a senior associate from DLA Piper, having also previously worked in-house at Ingenious Media and Discovery Networks Europe. She brings many years of experience in several facets of film and TV law, including: co-production funding and access to appropriate subsidies and incentives; film financing and tax-based finance; and production, distribution and exploitation of audio-visual content. Rebekah has acted for Hollywood studios, independent financiers, investment houses, production entities and global banking institutions, among others.
New York barred lawyer Isha comes to the practice with background in film, television and litigation, having most recently worked in-house at Miramax before joining Olswang as a paralegal. Isha also has legal experience at Fishbowl Worldwide Media and NBC Universal, and before completing her Juris doctorate, she worked as a producer for American broadcasters ABC News and E! Entertainment. She also served for more than three years as an assistant district attorney in the Bronx, New York.
Media, communications and technologypartner Jacqueline Hurt comment: “We’re very pleased to have both Rebekah and Isha join Olswang’s film and television practice. Their deep expertise in these sectors across the UK, US and Europe will build upon the firm’s more than 30-year history in providing our global film and TV clients with unrivalled service.”
