Called to the Bar in 1975, Sir Christopher David Floyd was
appointed a deputy High Court judge of the Patents Court in 1998, a Recorder in
2000, and a High Court judge of the Chancery Division in 2007. In 2013, he was
made a Privy Counsellor and appointed to the Court of Appeal.
His notable judgments as a Lord Justice of Appeal have included Relfo Ltd v Varsani [2014] EWCA Civ 360, a case concerning unjust enrichment law and to what extent enrichment of the defendant must be at the expense of the claimant.
